Brief Introduction

Dr Som Pal Singh joined PAU as Assistant Agrometeorologist at Regional Research Station Bathinda on August 18, 2000 after completing PhD from CCS Haryana Agricultural University, Hisar and worked  up to April 2006 as PI in DST sponsored project on National Centre for Medium Range Weather Forecasting and agro-advisories. Thereafter, he has worked as Assistant Professor and Associate Professor in the Department of Agronomy, Agricultural Meteorology and Forestry. Presently, Dr Som Pal Singh is working as Professor in the Department of Climate Change and Agricultural Meteorology.  He has completed one ICAR sponsored adhoc project on Ground Water Resource Management to Mitigate the Impact of Climate Change in Punjab and Haryana as CO–PI. One UGC sponsored project as Co-PI. He also teaches courses to UG and PG students of the University and has 25 years of Teaching and Research Experience in the subject. Besides this, he is holding the charge of Coordinator of External Examinations, COA, He has published 180 research papers the NAAS rated journals. He is member of Residents Instruction Committee (RIC) of PAU for the year 2024-25. Member of various committees of College and Departmental level. Member of the advisory Committees of MSc and PhD students of Department of Climate Change and Agricultural Meteorology and also other departments. He is on the Expert Panel of other Universities and ICAR for conducting the examinations and evaluations of student’s thesis.
