Brief Introduction

Dr. Trina Adhikary completed her B.Sc. (Hons.) Horticulture degree from Uttar Banga Krishi Viswa Vidyalaya (UBKV) in 2014 and M.Sc. in Fruits and Orchard Management from Bidhan Chandra Krishi Viswabidyalaya (BCKV) in 2016. She did her Ph.D. in Fruit Science from Punjab Agricultural University in 2020. She has worked at the Department of Agriculture, Khalsa College, Amritsar, as an Assistant Professor (Fruit Science) from 2020-2021. She joined PAU as Assistant Professor (Education) on 11.02.021 (till date). She joined at office of the Dean, College of Horticulture & Forestry, which was established in 2018, and the first batch of B.Sc. was started in 2019. Under the guidance of the Founder Dean of the College, Dr M.I.S. Gill, she worked on various aspects of establishing the college, from Accreditation of ICAR to finalising the VIth  Dean Committee Report of ICAR. She held the positions of Incharge Academic and Scholarship of COHF, Book Bank and College-level Placement Coordinator. She taught UG classes of various B.Sc. Degree programs at PAU. She is active member research team on Ber and Pear Crop, respectively. Currently, she is working in Production technology, Breeding and Postharvest technology of Fruit crops like Dragon Fruit, Phalsa, and Fig. She is handling a project entitled “Frontline demonstrations on popularization of Dragon Fruit in Punjab” funded by NHM as Co-PI since 2023. She is guiding one M.Sc. student as a major advisor, and 5 students as Co-Advisors. She has published 22 research papers in reputed national and international journals and published one book, 12 book chapters and 22 popular articles. She presented 12 papers at national and international conferences.  She is a member of 4 professional societies viz., The Horticultural society of India, New Delhi, All India Agricultural Students Association, Society for Bioresource and Stress management and the Indian Society of Agriculture Science & Technology Research. She got the Young Scientist Award in the VIIth International Conference in Global Research Initiatives for Sustainable Agriculture and Allied Sciences during 21-22 Nov 2022 and Young Women Scientist Award in International Conference on “Current Innovations & Technological Advances in Agriculture and Allied Sciences, by the Indian Society of Agriculture Science & Technology during 29-31 Aug, 2024.
