EXPOSURE VISIT OF FARMERS ORGANISED BY FARM ADVISORY SERVICE CENTRE, MOHALI

PAU – FASC Mohali in association with Suvidha NGO, Derabassi organised one day exposure visit to Punjab Agricultural University, Ludhiana on 12.12.2025 in which about 60 farmers and farm women participated. The motive of the visit was to make farmers aware of the various advanced technologies developed by PAU Ludhiana. The farmers visited Agronomy farm of the university where Dr. Vinay Kumar Sindhu (Senior Agronomist) apprised the farmers about the water saving techniques in field crops. Dr. Raminder Singh Ghuman DES (Agronomy) encouraged farmers to adopt water saving techniques especially in spring sown crops. He also suggested alternate crops that can be sown instead of spring maize and urged farmers to adopt crop diversification. He also took farmers to demonstration unit of Soil and Water Engineering department.  Dr. Sudhir Thaman (Scientist SWE) made farmers aware about the drip irrigation technology and protected cultivation of high value crops. The Mushroom unit of the university was also visited by the farmers, where Dr Jaspreet Kaur (Mycologist Mushroom) made them aware of the production technology of the winter season mushrooms.
