Dr. Parminder Singh has been appointed as Head, Department of Floriculture and Landscaping, PAU, Ludhiana on February 22, 2023. He joined PAU service in December 1996 and his field of specialization is protected cultivation of flowers, production technology of marigold and cut greens. He is associated in writing of 3 books, 14 book chapters, 4 review chapters, 6 practical manuals, and prepared 5 compact diskettes on ornamental plants. He has guided 14 M.Sc., 5 Ph.D. students and five advisory groups of B.Sc. Agri. (Hons.)/B.Sc. Hort. (Hons.). He is associated in the development of a marigold variety (Punjab Gainda No.1) and 14 improved technologies of flower crops. He has published 53 research papers and participated in 35 conferences of National and International repute. He accomplished one ad-hoc scheme as Co-investigator and is handling a DST sponsored project under SERB Power grant as Co- investigator. He has acquired advance training on “Flower Bulb Production” in the Netherlands. He is a Life member of many professional societies dealing with plant sciences. He has also published 3 Extension Bulletin, 54 popular articles, delivered 15 TV/Radio talks, rendered landscape advice to several educational institutions, Public/Private organizations and Individuals and to flower growers for cultivation of flowers under open conditions and protected conditions.
