Research Areas: Integrated Nutrient Management, Carbon Sequestration and Greenhouse Gas Emissions

Brief Introduction

Dr. Gurmeet Singh Dheri is a Senior Soil Chemist in the Department of Soil Science at Punjab Agricultural University, where he serves as the In-charge of the All India Coordinated Research Project (AICRP) on Long-Term Fertilizer Experiment (LTFE). His research areas include integrated nutrient management, soil health, nutrient dynamics, carbon sequestration, and greenhouse gas emissions. Dr. Dheri has successfully managed three grant projects as a principal investigator and has been involved in seven externally funded research studies exploring various facets of soil science. He has completed two six-month advanced training programs on soil carbon sequestration and GHG mitigation at Ohio State University, alongside five short training courses. With a strong publication record of 55 research articles, three book chapters, two proceeding papers, two training compendiums, and seven extension articles, he has also contributed to the development and testing of five innovative technologies recommended for state farmers by PAU. In addition to his research, Dr. Dheri is dedicated to teaching and has mentored two Ph.D. and seven M.Sc. students, actively engaging in both undergraduate and graduate courses.
