Internal Quality Assurance Cell (IQAC) / Home

All Higher Education Institutes are thriving hard to attain excellence and develop their own quality management systems in order to accomplish high performance standards. In this light, Punjab Agricultural University has established an Internal Quality Assurance Cell for institutionalization and internalization of quality enhancement initiatives. The Internal Quality Assurance Cell will promote quality culture as the prime concern of PAU through an array of sustaining initiatives taken with both internal and external support.

Internal Quality Assurance Cell (IQAC) / Message from the Chair

The United Nations established Sustainable Development Goals in 2015 that have redefined priorities of individuals and institutions for well-being of the entire biosphere. One of the aspects of Sustainable Development Goals pertains to ‘quality education’ thereby ensuring comprehensive and rightful learning environment.

In this context, the National Education Policy, 2020 also emphasizes that institutes of higher education must develop their own framework for promoting quality culture. These initiatives will ascertain positive growth of students, faculty, staff and stakeholders for contributing in a constructive manner to the society. Punjab Agricultural University has distinction for its high standards and extraordinary contributions in the field of agriculture. Quality improvement is an incessant process and to attain utmost perfection, an Internal Quality Assurance Cell has been formulated at the University. The Cell aims at identifying areas of improvement in academics, research, extension and administrative regimes for promotion of quality culture in the University. Further, it will keep an eye on challenges and will devise suitable strategies to improve the visibility of the University nationally and globally.

Internal Quality Assurance Cell (IQAC) /Mandate

  • Development and application of quality benchmarks
  • Setting parameters for various academic and administrative activities of the University
  • Facilitating the creation of a learner-centric environment conducive to quality education and faculty development to adopt the required knowledge and technology for participatory teaching and learning process
  • Collection and analysis of feedback from all stakeholders on quality-related institutional processes
  • Dissemination of information on various quality parameters to all stakeholders
  • Organization of intra and inter University workshops and seminars on quality- related themes and promotion of quality circles
  • Documentation of various programmes/activities leading to quality improvement
  • Acting as a nodal agency of the University for coordinating quality-related activities, including adoption and dissemination of the best practices
  • Periodical conduct of Academic and Administrative Audits along with their follow-up activities and
  • Preparation and submission of the Annual Quality Assurance Report as per the guidelines and parameters of National Assessment and Accreditation Council
