A Scientific Advisory Committee (SAC) meeting was successfully conducted at Krishi Vigyan Kendra (KVK), Samrala on 19 January 2026 to review past activities and finalize the action plan for the upcoming year.The meeting was chaired by Dr. M.S. Bhullar, Director Extension Education, Punjab Agricultural University (PAU), Ludhiana. While addressing the members, Dr. Bhullar highlighted the significance of the SAC meeting in guiding and planning KVK activities to ensure effective delivery of need-based technologies and services to the farming community. He emphasized that suggestions from stakeholders are crucial for strengthening extension programmes and improving outreach at the grassroots level. Dr. G S Mangat, Additional Director of Research (Crop Improvement), PAU, stressed the need for enhanced collaboration with allied departments and underlined the importance of aligning agricultural research and extension efforts with changing weather patterns and the evolving agricultural scenario. Dr. V.K. Rampal, Head-cum-Associate Director, KVK Samrala, presented a comprehensive overview of the KVK’s achievements, ongoing programmes, and the proposed action plan for the year 2026–27, including activities. Members from the District Agriculture Department, District Horticulture Department, NABARD, and Lead District Manager (LDM) banks provided valuable suggestions for improving technology dissemination, farmer capacity building, and convergence of departmental programmes.Dr. Amanpreet Singh, Assistant Professor (Agronomy) facilitated the field visit, while Dr. Parvinder Kaur coordinated the exhibition showcasing new initiatives, KVK activities a and technologies. The meeting witnessed the participation of the members, who actively contributed their inputs for strengthening KVK interventions in the region. Dr. Veerprap Singh wrapped up the meeting was with a vote of thanks.
