Ms Harpreet Kaur Bains joined PAU as Assistant Professor on 04.11.2008 after completing  MA ( English) from Punjab University, Chandigarh in 2002 and MA(French ) from  Guru Nanak Dev University, Amritsar in 2007and cleared the UGC NET exam in 2008.Since her joining PAU, she has been offering various courses in French to the students of PAU, GADVASU and residents of Ludhiana. she has also offered courses in English and guided some students of MSc Journalism. She is deputed to cover the Kisan Melas at other stations where she is required to make the reports about the melas.She also acted as chairperson of Academic Committee and incharge of departmental library. Recently, she has started offering an online One Year Certificate Course in French.

Professional Accomplishments 

Research Projects:

1. She is currently pursuing Ph D in French from Panjab University, Chandigarh. She has already completed her research and now her work is nearing completion. 
2. Under the patronage of PAU, she has written the biography of Dr AS Khalon in which she has highlighted the life and work of this legendary economist of PAU.
3. She has been offering Proficiency course, French-501 to  Ph D students of PAU and GADVASU since 2008.

Publications:

1. She has written a book entitled “An Easy Approach to French Grammar and Communication “
2. She has also written a Manual of Everyday French for the students of French at the university 
3. She has written about 40 research articles in French and English which were published in national and international journals of high repute, many of which are duly approved by UGC. 
4. She has written more than dozen extension articles on different current topics which were published in prestigious newspapers and journals like The Tribune, Ajit and Progressive Farming of PAU.

Awards and Recognition 

1. She is Gold Medalist in MA ( French).
2. Engineering Exporters Association of India ( Registered) presented her a Foreign Language Translation Award which carried a cash prize of RS. 25000/- and a citation.
3. CT university gave her an award in recognition of doing an excellent work at PAU.
