On the auspicious occasion of National Farmers’ Day, Punjab Agricultural University, Ludhiana, extends its warm greetings and profound respect to the farming community, whose dedication and hard work form the foundation of our nation’s food security and rural development.

Applauding the monumental contributions of the Punjab farmers, Dr Satbir Singh Gosal, Vice-Chancellor, PAU, says, “Farmers are the true nation-builders who tirelessly work to nourish the country and sustain its economy.” “The contribution of Indian farmers, particularly those of Punjab, has been historic and transformative. Through their resilience, innovation, and willingness to adopt scientific advancements, they have played a pivotal role in making India self-reliant in food production,” he observes.

Further, Dr Gosal says, “Punjab Agricultural University has always stood alongside farmers in their journey toward progress. Since its inception, the University has been committed to advancing agricultural education, research, and extension services aimed at improving productivity, sustainability, and farmers’ livelihoods. By developing high-yielding crop varieties, promoting resource-efficient farming practices, and disseminating scientific knowledge, PAU continues to empower farmers to face emerging challenges such as climate change, soil health degradation, and water scarcity.”

On this National Farmers’ Day, the University reaffirms its resolve to work collaboratively with farmers, policymakers, and stakeholders to ensure a prosperous, sustainable, and resilient agricultural future, adds Dr Gosal. We acknowledge the invaluable contribution of farmers to society and honor their perseverance, wisdom, and unwavering commitment to feeding the nation, observes Dr Gosal.

Punjab Agricultural University salutes the spirit of our farmers and wishes them good health, prosperity, and continued success.
