A Yoga Awareness Camp was organized for National Service Scheme (NSS) volunteers of Punjab Agricultural University (PAU), Ludhiana, on December 4, 2025 at the PAU Athletic Ground. The programme was held under the guidance of Dr Nirmal Jaura, Director Students’ Welfare, and Dr K.S. Suri, Joint Director Students’ Welfare, while Dr Raj Kumar Pal and Dr Harmandeep Kaur, NSS Incharges, College of Agriculture, coordinated the event. A total of 110 NSS volunteers actively participated in the camp.
The session was conducted by Mr Krishna Nayaka, a certified Yoga Instructor (AYUSH/YCB), Government of India, from Mysuru, Karnataka. Addressing the volunteers, he emphasized the importance of Yoga for physical fitness, emotional balance, stress regulation, and overall well-being, while encouraging students to integrate Yoga into their daily routine. He also demonstrated various asanas and breathing practices, inspiring students to adopt Yoga as a lifestyle.
Mr Nayaka is the initiator of the Walk for Yoga campaign—a historic Padayatra undertaken across India, Nepal, and Bhutan to promote Yoga, wellness, and environmental consciousness. Since commencing his walk from Mysore on October 16, 2022, he has covered 24 Indian states and Union Territories, travelling 20–30 km on foot daily while conducting awareness activities. Through this mission, he has delivered Yoga sessions across schools, colleges, universities and community spaces, engaging diverse groups to advocate holistic living and sustainability.
The event concluded with an interactive session where NSS volunteers expressed gratitude for Mr Nayaka’s motivational message and meaningful demonstrations, appreciating the insights shared on mindful living and health preservation.
