The annual Inter-College Youth Festival of Punjab Agricultural University (PAU), Ludhiana, commenced today with a vibrant celebration of talent, creativity, and youthful energy. The ten-day festival, being held from November 8 to 17, 2025, is showcasing the artistic brilliance of university students through a series of cultural, literary, fine arts, and heritage events.
Addressing the inaugural ceremony,Chief Guest of the day, Dr Satbir Singh Gosal, Vice-Chancellor, PAU, emphasized that co-curricular activities play a vital role in shaping the overall personality of students. “Such events give youth the opportunity to express themselves, nurture leadership, and balance intellect with creativity. PAU has not only produced world-class agricultural scientists but also internationally recognized artists and sportspersons,” he said.
Dr Nirmal Jaura, Director Students’ Welfare, shared that the festival features competitions in music, theatre, fine arts, folk dance, literature, and heritage arts. “Even though our students study science, they have excelled internationally in literature and culture—a reflection of their multidimensional learning,” he added.
Dr Rupinder Kaur, Associate Director (Culture), while sharing results of Shabad Gayan competition informed that over fifty competitions will be organized during the festival.
Dr Vishal Bector, President, University Dance, Drama and Music Club, highlighted that youth festivals not only hone creative skills but also instill discipline and teamwork. proposed a vote of thanks, encouraging students to participate wholeheartedly in the celebrations.
Dr RIS Gill, Estate Officer, Dr Kamaljeet Singh Suri, Joint Director Students’ Welfare, Dr CS Aulakh, Dean College of Agriculture, Dr Jaswinder Kaur, Heads of Department, faculty and students attended the inaugural ceremony in large numbers.
The inaugural day witnessed enthusiastic participation in Shabad Gayan (Solo and Group), Poster Making, Collage Making, Clay Modeling, Doodling, and Poetic Recitation & Has Rass competitions.
In Shabad Gayan (Solo),
Gurveen Singh (COAFT, Ludhiana) secured the first position,
Jagpreet Singh (COA, Ludhiana) won second place, and
Jaskeerat Singh (COCS, Ludhiana) stood third.
In Group Shabad Gayan,
College of Agriculture (COA), Ludhiana bagged the first prize,
College of Agricultural Engineering and Technology (COAET), Ludhiana won second, and
College of Community Science (COCS), Ludhiana stood third.
