The Academic Council constitutes a standing sub-committee of the Academic Council for resident instructions. The Committee consists of all the Deans and Directors, Registrar, Controller of Examination, one senior-most Professor from each constituent college by rotation and President, PAU Teachers Association. The Dean, Postgraduate Studies is the Chairman of the Resident Instruction Committee. The functions of the Resident Instruction Committee as under:
The sub-committee shall advise the Vice Chancellor regarding the allocation of funds for Resident Instruction, the conditions for accepting grants and other matters affecting the resident programmes of the University and shall:
- Make recommendations to the Academic Council concerning the institution of the new curricula, re-arrangement, alteration and abolition of the existing curricula offered by the University;
- Consider the recommendations of the various Boards of Studies and make recommendations to the Academic Council to ensure coordination and avoid duplication in the various courses offered by the constituent colleges; and
- Recommend resident teaching programme for the University which would take into account the needs of all the students, teachers, research and extension education workers of the University. It will function in such a way that it would not in any way affect the jurisdiction of the Board of Studies.
