STUDENTS OF PM SRI SENIOR SECONDARY SCHOOL, AKKANWALI VISITED PUNJAB AGRICULTURAL UNIVERSITY, KRISHI VIGYAN KENDRA, KHOKHAR KHURD (MANSA)

On January 19, 2026, a group of 138 students from P.M. Sri Senior Secondary School, Akkanwali visited Punjab Agricultural University-Krishi Vigyan Kendra (KVK), Khokhar Khurd, Mansa to gain practical knowledge about modern agriculture and allied activities. Dr Ajitpal Singh Dhaliwal, Associate Director of Krishi Vigyan Kendra, warmly welcomed the students and acquainted them with various farmer-centric facilities available at the KVK. He highlighted the regular training programmes, availability of quality seeds, mineral mixture, agricultural machinery, and other inputs that are provided to farmers for increasing productivity and income. The students were given detailed lectures on critical issues such as environment conservation, crop residue management, and organic farming. During the visit, the students toured various demonstration units (bee keeping, goat rearing, poultry, vermin-compost, kitchen garden, technology park etc) established at the KVK. At the concluding session, Dr. Ranvir Singh, Assistant Professor (Plant Protection), informed the students about various undergraduate and postgraduate courses offered by Punjab Agricultural University, Ludhiana, in agriculture and allied disciplines. He encouraged the young minds to consider higher education and career opportunities in the agricultural sector. The visit proved highly informative and inspiring for the students, many of whom expressed keen interest in agriculture-related fields. The programme ended with a vote of thanks and a pledge by students to spread awareness about environment-friendly farming practices in their villages.
