US-BASED PAU ALUMNUS ENGAGES WITH NIDHI-TBI FOR NEW BUSINESS COLLABORATION

Mr Harinder Singh Nagpal, a proud PAU alumnus who hails from USA and successfully manages his business there, visited the School of Business Studies (SBS), Punjab Agricultural University (PAU), to explore potential networking and collaboration opportunities with the registered incubatees of NIDHI-TBI. In response to his interest, Dr Ramandeep Singh, PI, NIDHI-TBI (DST, GoI) and Director, SBS, PAU, arranged a focused interaction between Mr Nagpal and NIDHI-TBI incubatee Mr Kamaljeet Singh, who is engaged in the processing and marketing of fox nuts.

Mr Kamaljeet Singh, who runs his family-owned enterprise with the support of his wife and daughter, expressed sincere gratitude to the NIDHI-TBI team for providing him with this valuable platform to explore new business opportunities.

Dr Ramandeep Singh opened the discussion by outlining the objectives of the meeting and guiding the incubatee to align with the requirements highlighted by Mr Nagpal. He emphasized the importance of understanding consumer behaviour and adapting marketing strategies—such as packaging, pricing, and product positioning—to meet evolving customer expectations. He also encouraged Mr Singh to carefully evaluate Mr Nagpal’s suggestion of introducing smaller packaging formats to attract a broader customer base and improve market penetration.

Dr Poonam A. Sachdev, Co-PI, NIDHI-TBI (DST, GoI) and Principal Food Technologist, PAU, congratulated both Mr Singh and Mr Nagpal. She highlighted the importance of developing technically sound and market-ready products and appreciated the team’s efforts in creating meaningful networking opportunities for incubatees.

Dr Amarjeet Kaur, Scientist, Department of Food and Nutrition, PAU, advised the incubatee to undergo appropriate product testing to ensure compliance with all quality and regulatory standards.

Mr Gurinder Singh, CEO, NIDHI-TBI, acknowledged the entrepreneur’s efforts and assured continued support from the incubator for future growth. He also encouraged the incubatee to effectively utilize the mentorship and facility support available at NIDHI-TBI.

Additionally, Mr Sameer Gautam, BM, NIDHI-TBI, facilitated the registration process for Mr Nagpal and reaffirmed the organization’s commitment to fostering business development and networking opportunities for all its incubatees.

The meeting concluded on a positive note, opening doors for future collaboration and further strengthening the entrepreneurial support ecosystem at NIDHI-TBI.
